Arch president and chief executive Steven Leer said Feldman's 25 years of human resources experience would make her a strong asset for the company's management team.
Feldman replaces Brad Allbritten, who was named vice president of marketing for Arch in August.
Allbritten now has responsibility for the company's coal marketing, trading, transportation and contract administration functions.
