At a two-day event at Capitol Hill last week, Phillips S Baker Jr, Joseph A Carrabba, Joseph W Craft, J Brett Harvey, Robert P Jornayvaz, Greg Lang, Robert E Murray, Michael J Quillen and Michael Sutherlin became members of the executive committee to the board of the NMA.
Also included in the executive committee will be NMA chairman Jim Roberts, vice chairman William Champion and president Kraig Naasz as well as its audit and finance committee chairman Greg Boyce.
The jump in budget funds, the NMA said late last week, will hopefully work towards "enhancing the industry's advocacy efforts" and will allow for the group's staff to grow by seven individuals. It also intends to use the monies for government relations, grassroots efforts and other items important to their mission.
"I'm deeply gratified by the board’s strong vote of confidence," said Naasz. "The heart and soul of any association is the voluntary service provided by its members and the talents and commitment of its staff [and] NMA is blessed to have these in abundance."
