Innovators to benefit from COMET program

THE federal government is calling on innovators in the mining sector to seek business management ...

COMET was established to aid innovators take their product into the marketplace and is being overseen by the Australian Government Innovation Australia board.

 

Chair of the COMET committee Elizabeth Lewis-Gray said COMET has already proven to help Australian innovator through a series of grants distributed to businesses of between $A5,000 to $120,000.

 

“The COMET program is targeted at the early stage innovators who need assistance with business management and commercialisation skills,” Lewis-Gray said.

 

“There are many new innovations in the mining sector that could benefit from this program, particularly where the company founder has more of a technical than management background.

 

“It can also provide assistance to companies, where appropriate, to raise capital on a success fee basis.”
