The Gulf Group at AIMEX

CONVEYOR engineering, maintenance and management specialist, The Gulf Group will have experienced and qualified engineers on hand at the AIMEX show in Sydney next week to discuss ways to improve maintenance practices and safety standards, and to reduce production costs.

On the product display front, Gulf will have its patented Gulf Clean Air Transfer (G-CAT) and Gulf Easyflow Transfer Chute technology under the spotlight. The latter includes its Easyflow System and Gulf Easyflow Dewatering Chute.

Gulf describes G-CAT as a revolutionary breakthrough in dust control for conveyor-to-conveyor transfer which eliminates the need for costly and high maintenance baghouses. “This provides a system that greatly reduces operating costs in respect to the costs associated with running baghouses and also the costs of maintaining the baghouses to their optimal operating efficiency,” the company says.

G-CAT works on the principle of controlling the movement of dust-laden air through the materials transfer process. The process centres on an innovative design that in essence, manages the flow of air until the dust finally agglomerates and returns to the belt on the receiving conveyor.

Gulf says Easyflow System is a breakthrough in materials transfer technology which uses computer modeled trajectories, velocity profiles and CAD to concentrate and steer material through low angles and impact, and over low-friction surfaces. These elements, plus the shape of the chute components, allow the central material loading of the receiving belt and matching of the material's forward velocity to approximate the velocity of the receiving belt.

Gulf Easyflow Dewatering Chute uses similar technology to the Easyflow System to efficiently dewater and transfer materials either in-line or from one conveyor or another.
