The two-day event is scheduled for February 6-7 at the Clarion Resort on the Lake and is a cooperative effort of Arkansas Department of Labor in conjunction with the Holmes committee.
“The purpose of this conference is to provide a forum for the mining community to focus on current mine safety and health topics, activities and initiatives by presenting information to address and eliminate workplace hazards,” the groups said.
“Everyone associated with mining has responsibilities in matters relating to mine health and safety because the mining industry’s most precious resource is the miner.”
Updates from the US Mine Safety and Health Administration are scheduled for the conference’s presentation sessions, along with a discussion about managing injuries by Vulcan Materials area operations manager Ben Steltenpohl.
Bridgestone earthmover product manager Harry Manning will offer remarks on tyre safety and other presentations are scheduled on pre-shift equipment inspection and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
Vendor booths are planned for the conference, as is a vendor hospitality reception.
