Manufacturing boon gives rise to wage war

MANUFACTURING has outshone mining in wage growth, with mining salaries increasing at their slowes...

The March quarter saw annual manufacturing wages increase 3.1% and mining wages up 2.4%, the first time wage growth in manufacturing has been ahead of mining since the end of 2011, according to the Financial Review.

However, separate ABS figures show that the average weekly full-time wages for an adult in the mining sector are still well above those in manufacturing.
