Harchelroad has almost 30 years of sales and applications experience in mining, other heavy industries and automation.
He comes to Irwin from KH Controls, where he was responsible for the sales and service of intrinsically safe power supplies and longwall lighting systems.
He also worked for FMC Technologies, where he developed an expertise in the design and implementation of large material handling systems and equipment.
Harchelroad will be working with Pat Rengers, whom he will replace when Rengers retires in March, 2015, Irwin CEO William Baker said.
“Gene’s knowledge, experience and commitment strengthen our ability to continue providing mine operators with the superior combination of sales and service they’ve come to expect from Irwin Mine and Tunneling Supply,” Baker said.
“The addition of Gene to our team solidifies our position as a single source for mining products and solutions.”
Harchelroad has a BSc (management) from Seton Hill University (Greensburg, Pennsylvania) and also holds associate degrees in industrial engineering and welding technology.
