PIMS clinches Bowen development contracts

PIMS Mining will start a two-year contract with the BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance’s Broadmeadow mine to complete mains and gate road development.

PIMS Mining has begun mobilisation after increasing manning in early January with local central Queensland sourced labour.

PIMS Mining has also started a second development contract with Peabody Energy's North Goonyella Mine to complete mains and gate road development drivage.

PIMS Group remains a major contract supplier at Glencore's Oaky Creek Coal with conveyor installation contracts and development contracts at the Oaky No1 and Oaky North mines.

PIMS Group's head office in Mackay will administer the contracts.

PIMS Group will increase its employee base to greater than 250 in 2015 as a results of the new contracts which also provide a positive outcome for a local Mackay and Moranbah based company, its managing director Richard Mills told International Coal News.
