Bretby Gammatech was recognised for being a “passionate enterprise” that successfully generated 95% of its business from challenging international markets.
The company is a pioneer of natural gamma radiation that analyses the ash content of coal, with a high level of accuracy and without any health and safety issues. Bretby Gammatech’s products are sold to the international mining industry, in countries such as Turkey, Kazakhstan and Vietnam.
Bretby Gammatech was founded by four former British Coal staff back in 1994, who developed an Ash Probe that could effectively monitor ash content of coal, without the need to use potentially harmful radiation techniques.
The company’s technology has become renowned across the world, helping international mining companies to increase productivity and reduce costs.
Over the last 20 years, the company has innovated within its range and added a number of new products, including Lab Ash, Ash Eye, Heat Eye and Gamma Eye.
In 2012 Bretby Gammatech became part of the President Engineering Group, which has enabled it to further exploit opportunities internationally.
Bretby Gammatech general manager Gary Wain said: “We are absolutely delighted with our award win, which is a double celebration as we secured it in the same week as our parent company, President Engineering Group Limited, won the Queen’s Award for International Trade 2015.
“These recent award wins firmly put us on the map as a leading manufacturer of equipment for the global energy markets.
“It is fantastic that the judges recognised how passionate we are about our business and we believe this is one of the reasons for our success on an international scale.”
