Position Partners will sell and support RDS weighing systems for earthmoving, mining and logistics equipment throughout Australia and South East Asia. The agreement follows the recent acquisition of RDS Technology and its parent company Digi-Star LLC by Topcon Positioning Group in March 2015.

Position Partners Business Manager for Machine Systems Harry Katsanevas said: “As Topcon’s exclusive Australian partner for geospatial and positioning technology, we are delighted to announce the acquisition agreement with the local RDS Technology provider, RDS Australia.

“By combining RDS Australia’s know how and experience with Position Partners’ national sales and technical support team, we can offer customers local service for all their on-board weighing needs, throughout Australia and South East Asia.”

RDS on-board weighing systems are designed to increase efficiency and productivity in construction, mining and industrial applications by delivering accurate weight information to the machine operator via an easy-to-read control box mounted inside the cab. Loading accurately each time reduces return trips to the stockpile, saving on fuel usage and machine wear.

Position Partners will distribute the full range of RDS systems, including Loadmaster Alpha 100 for loaders, the Loadex 100 system for excavators and the Weighlog Alpha 10 system for compact loaders, telehandlers and skidsteers.
