Ampcontrol has been exporting to China for the past seven years, and the new facility will continue to strengthen the company’s position by having direct representation to meet customer requirements in China, rather than business transactions taking place via an agent, as in the past.
Chief executive Dr Alan Broadfoot said the new facility will serve as a sales and service operation to support the growth of the Power and Electronics Divisions’ products in the region and will also undertake small end manufacturing for this market.
“Australia and China are natural trading partners. China’s continued and strong growth rate over the past few years has delivered opportunities for many Australian mining companies and Ampcontrol have certainly been able to take advantage of this growth,” he said.
The new operation will also enable Ampcontrol to support existing OEM and Australian end user customers that are also expanding successfully in the rapidly growing Chinese market.
