The JKMRC is a postgraduate research centre and consulting organization at the University of Queensland. The centre is a world leader in mining and mineral processing technologies.
The centre’s third director since it started, Professor Tim Napier-Munn retires at the end of this year after 20 years at the JK centre. He also had the role of managing director of JKTech when it was incorporated in 2001.
Napier-Munn will be replaced by two new appointments. Adair, currently running the Kennecott Copper Concentrator Technical Group, has been appointed director. Dr Geoff Gault joined JKTech as managing director in May this year.
Napier-Munn has accepted a part-time appointment with the University of Queensland’s Sustainable Minerals Institute to assist in major project development.
