Allied Mining appoints new general manager

ALLIED Mining has appointed Patrick Ellis as general manager.

Ellis has 16 years international experience in the contract mining industry. He has been involved in metalliferous and coal mining, both underground and opencast. He has significant major project experience in shaft sinking, tunnelling and underground construction gained with the RUC Group.

Prior to joining Allied, he was with Macmahon Contractors in Western Australia, most recently as manager eastern region covering operations in South Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales and New Zealand.

Ellis said he hoped to build on Allied's reputation for being reliable and innovative company and expand on the company's market leadership in place change mining operations. The two main priorities are to expand mine development expertise and to expand ancillary business as a niche, high expertise contractor. The latter includes underground construction, equipment installation and general services contracts operators typically parcel out to contractors.
