Northern Appalachia mines produced 4.7 million tons from Bailey, Blacksville #2, Dilworth, Enlow Fork, Humphrey, McElroy, Mine 84, Robinson Run, and Shoemaker.

Central Appalachia mines produced 1.3 million tons from Amonate, Buchanan, Jones Fork, Mill Creek, and VP#8.

Midwest/West mines produced 200,000 tons from the Cardinal River, Line Creek and Glennies Creek (Australia) mines.

Consol has left the Mahoning Valley and Rend Lake Mines idled and they are being evaluated on a week-to-week basis. These mines were idled as part of a previously announced plan to reduce Consol’s production in 2002.

Windsor Mine has closed permanently. The Humphrey and Dilworth mines also are scheduled to close permanently by year's end. Loveridge Mine began a workforce callback in November and by January miners will begin development of a new area of the mine.

Consol expects Loveridge to begin longwall mining by mid-year 2003, market conditions permitting.
