Humphris, who has served a two year tenure as a non-executive director on the Ampcontrol board, said he was honoured to accept the position and looked forward to new challenges as the company continues to grow.
Humphris is a well known figure in the Australian and international mining industry and has been involved with leading organizations over his 40 year working life. Previously he was managing director of Costain Australia and Peabody Resources, a subsidiary of Peabody Holding Co.

Humphris is chairman of Eroc Holdings and director of Leighton Holdings. He has previously twice served as chairman of the New South Wales Minerals Council, is a former chairman of both the Australian Coal Association and Newcastle Shippers and has been a director of Australian Coal Research and Port Waratah Coal Services. He also represented the Australian Government on the Coal Industry Advisory Board, a part of the International Energy Agency.
