Transport bottlenecks and train derailments disrupted shipments throughout the year.

The terminal exported 65.93 million tonnes in 2004, compared with 68.31Mt in 2003 and 66.04Mt in 2002.

Platts reported South African officials were expecting greater exports of up to 72Mt in 2005 as smaller South African coal producers increase production this year.
