Trinh will be responsible for developing Mitsubishi Electric's switchgear market (rated voltage up to 33kV) in Australia, as well as providing technical support for Mitsubishi Electric's clients and distributors.

He spent five years at Mitsubishi Electric Corporation in Japan as part of Mitsubishi Electric Australia's traineeship program. In Japan, he was based in the Power Distributions Systems Center designing and manufacturing medium voltage power distribution switchgear.

With previous roles including designing 12/24kV gas-insulated switchgear and electrical substation distribution system equipment, Trinh brings a wealth of technical expertise to the Australian market.

"The market in which we operate demands the most up-to-date and highest level of technical knowledge,” said Paul Prudhoe, general manager, automation and switchgear.

“With Denis on board, we can provide both the technical understanding and the market context to our customers and distributors. We see Denis acting as a communication link between Australia and the Mitsubishi Electric factories overseas to ensure the needs of Australian customers are met."

Mitsubishi Electric Australia currently sells switchgear products for the mining industry through other suppliers. The company plans to increase its direct exposure to mines in the future.
