In the US Securities and Exchange Commission notice, the producer said that the initial order was handed down to its Rend Lake mine complex in Sesser, Illinois, on October 11 by the US Mine Safety and Health Administration.
It did not indicate the nature of the condition at that time or in this week’s filing, and a Consol spokeswoman did not return comment to ILN.
However, the producer did confirm that the order was abated October 30, and that no injuries resulted from the condition.
Rend Lake, located in in Jefferson County, is has been listed by MSHA as a non-producing facility since June 2002.
The year of its closure, it had produced more than 1.67 million tonnes.
