So far, all that is known is that 41-year-old Timothy Memmer of Princeton was performing maintenance work on a piece of mining equipment underground when the tragedy occurred.

The machinery moved unexpectedly, resulting in Memmer's death.

Gibson County Coal said appropriate governmental agencies have been notified and investigations were ongoing.
