The dredge comes with a specially designed jet suction head and delivers material from the impoundment to the fine coal recovery system by a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipeline.
Coalview Recovery group president David Henry said the dredge was scheduled to arrive at the Centralia site in June.
“The dredging system was designed specifically for our fine coal recovery plant at Centralia and will give us the lowest unit cost,” he said.
A new fine coal processing plant is currently under construction, and the project is scheduled to be fully operational in the fourth quarter of this year.
The Centralia project was funded in December, 2013, Coalview CEO Roger Fish said.
“We took an important step forward by acquiring the highly automated and high-tech dredge system,” he said.
“We are speeding up our hiring process in preparation for the full plant operation in Q4.”
Coalview will exhibit at the Coal Prep Show 2014 in Lexington, KY from April 28 to May 1.
