A US mine worker has been injured at the Peabody coal mine near Francisco in Gibson County, Indiana.
A spokesman with the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened around 12.30am on Tuesday.
A helicopter was called to the mine and the worker was sent to hospital with an injured leg.
The extent of the injuries is not yet known.
An internal inquiry into the incident is underway.
