The 60-person consulting business should boost Sedgman’s infrastructure service offering and market diversification opportunities.
Headquartered on the Gold Coast, Yeats also has offices in Brisbane, Gladstone and Melbourne.
The company’s capabilities include preliminary planning, feasibility analyses, detailed engineering design, major infrastructure works, project delivery, approvals management, comprehensive environmental investigations, surveying and construction supervision.
Yeats has a history in major infrastructure and master-planned urban development projects such as Springfield, Flagstone and Cobaki.
Since entering the resources sector Yeats has been involved with Queensland projects such as China First Coal, Styx Coal and the Moranbah and Dysart accommodation villages.
Sedgman chief executive officer and managing director Nick Jukes said the acquisition was a great opportunity to share efficiencies, build capabilities and work towards expanding complementary product and service offerings.
“Both companies are committed to a high level of customer service so clients can expect to see immediate benefits from this deal through the collaboration of the Yeats team and Sedgman’s in-house infrastructure team,” Jukes said.
