The Green Miner award, given each year to a Massey subsidiary that shows an outstanding commitment to the environment, went to LCMS for its implementation of an environmental program last year that helped reclaim hundreds of acres as well as plant 354,000 trees.
The group also earned two awards last year in West Virginia for its reclamation efforts as well as two national nominations for awards set to be announced in September.
Massey also awarded its Best of Class honours in four classifications, including another trophy for Logan County Mine Services for its Highland surface mine, which took home Best Surface Mine.
Marfork Coal Company was recognised as Best Preparation Plant and its Allen Powellton deep mine was honoured for Best Underground Mine, while Logan County Mine Services was also given the Most Improved Operation Award.
