Drilling will go to an average depth of 140m within the Shady Camp, T9 and Munna Creek projects.

The company is targeting resources of 20-30 million tonnes from drilling including 5Mt of high-quality coking coal.

Tiaro has stakes in six Queensland coal permits.

In February, Tiaro announced plans for a joint venture coal-trading operation with China Qinfa Group and that it would spend the profits on its coal project portfolio.

Shares in the junior are unchanged at 29c.
