“The underground operators conference is Australia’s only regular forum for the exchange of ideas between mine operators, engineers and researchers in the underground coal mining,” convenors said.
Technical convenor, Associate Professor Naj Aziz, at the University’s Faculty of Engineering called for papers with abstracts due on July 30, 2003.
Papers are invited in the field of
- Identification of Hazards at Exploration Stage

- Risk Management Principles applied to Planning
- Optimising Safety at the Planning Stage
- Ventilation, Gas Control and Gas Control
“We particularly invite papers that present case studies in the design and conduct of exploration program and how mine planning has responded to the available geological and geotechnical information,” organisers said.
Abstracts are to be sent to naj@uow.edu.au.
