PKE gets green light

Interfax reported PKE are looking to takeover two or three of Poland’s largest coal group, who are currently in shut-down mode. KW must close some of its mines under demands by the government to increase its capital.

KW are expected to announce the mines to be closed in July, with closures beginning in August.

In other Polish news, Polish News Bulletin reported representatives of the Jastrzebska Spolka Weglowa (JSW) coal company, Zaklady Koksownicze Przyjazn, a state-owned coke plant, and PKP state railways are finalising the creation of a new coal and coke concern.
