Organosol 550 DT is a non-expanding, two-component injection resin that offers mines an alternative to traditional urea-silicate glues.
It is designed to consolidate and stabilise fractured coal, rock and gravel in underground roadways, shafts, coal faces and longwalls.
Organosol 550 DT is insensitive to water in the reaction and will not absorb, shrink, expand or foam when it comes into contact with water. It can be used to seal against water.
The cooperation between the companies combines Grace’s expertise and technical experience in consolidation and water-stopping materials with Strata Worldwide’s mining experience, Strata Worldwide engineer Mike Fabio said.
“We have conducted thorough testing to refine the properties of Organosol 550 DT to ensure it meets the demands of the mining environment,” he said.
“It has proven to have excellent bonding properties and a compressive strength reaching up to 5000psi.”
