US COAL production in November totalled 93 million short tons, up 3% on November 2000, according ...

Coal consumed by the electric power sector in September 2001 was estimated at 80 million tons, 3% lower than September the year before, while electric power sector coal stocks were estimated at 112 million tons at the end of September, 2% lower that the level a year earlier.

Coal exports in September totalled 4 million tons, 7% lower than exports in September 2000.

Coal imports in September 2001 totalled 2 million tons, more than double the imports a year before.
