Port owner Prime Infrastructure said at this rate terminal capacity "well exceeds" likely coal presentation at Dalrymple Bay for the immediate future given prevailing mine supply conditions.

As of last Saturday four ships were waiting in queue for Dalrymple Bay, down from 10 on March 13.

The reclaiming machine collapsed on February 15, reducing nominal throughput capacity to what was predicted to be about 40% of nominal capacity for the first two weeks following the accident.

However, the actual annualised nominal capacity achieved in week two was 76%, dropping to 57% in week three before picking up again during the following week.
