Equipment downtime was significantly reduced allowing consistent production over the January holiday season. Consistent output also improved mining conditions.

Output for January was 205,014 ROM tonnes compared to December production of 78,556t.

Reduced stone dilution also increased the recovery of clean coal from the coal preparation plant.

A total of 132,848t of clean coal were shipped during the month, half of which was priced at the recently negotiated 2005 contract price.
