The illegal coal mine in China’s Guizhou province caught fire during a “gas deflagration” burning procedure, Xinhua reported.

The official news agency reported the mine only had a single shaft and no ventilation facility.

The Chinese Government has been working to shut down small illegal coal mines in the country, but the fatalities have continued to mar the industry.
