The company said it had developed the new sizes in response to increased global demand for its product, which delivers superior locking performance and maximum holding power.

Previously offered in select metric sizes only, this unique locknut is rapidly gaining popularity in various mining applications such as longwall flight bar assemblies, crushers, conveyors and drilling systems.

The product is perfect for applications where shock, vibration or environmental conditions cause fastener failure and costly downtime. It is also useful where periodic maintenance requires reusability or safety.

The Security Locknut uses an elliptical spring steel locking concept that radially locks onto a bolt or mating shaft, making it absolutely vibration and shockproof.

It effectively eliminates the need for traditional fastening systems like double nuts, serrated fasteners, distorted and nylon insert locknuts that fail. It also eliminates the need to weld components together.

Installation and removal require no special tools other than a standard torque wrench or ratchet.

The Security Locknut product is heat-resistant to 750F and is offered in Coarse and Fine pitch metric sizes, compatible with Class 8.8 or Class 10.9 bolts.

Heavy and Jam styles are available as well as American Standard Finished and Heavy Hex pattern sizes in UNC & UNF threads and customs.
