PinnOak to lay off 200 miners in WV, AL

COAL company PinnOak Resources is laying off approximately 200 workers at its mines in West Virginia and Alabama, <I>Associated Press</I> reported.

PinnOak says the layoffs will reduce the number of mine employees by about 22% in order to balance production with coal market conditions.

There are currently about 920 people working at the Green Ridge and Pinnacle mines in Pineville, West Virginia, and the Oak Grove Mine in Adger, Alabama.
