The conference will be held over February 7 - 8 at the University of Wollongong under the theme of "Towards Improvement in Production and Safety".

Abstracts are invited from the following topics:

Heading development, longwall mining, bord and pillar mining, hydraulic mining;

Ground control, instrumentation, rock bolting, mine subsidence, strata management;

Mine ventilation, mine gas drainage and outburst control, mine fires and control, mine dust and control, and risk management; and

Mine management and mine contract.

COAL2008 is jointly organised between the University of Wollongong, the Illawarra Branch of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and Mine Managers Association of Australia.
