Compiled by Intierra Mapping and featured in sister publication Australia's Mining Monthly, the annual rich list showed the Goonyella operation in Queensland as the highest ranking coal mine.

Despite featuring heavily, coal did slip in the rankings compared to 2006.

The rankings were based on the notional cash value the operation would have produced had its annual production been sold at the commodity prices current at December 2006.
