According to Strata officials, the company will kick off its distributorship by offering the four recently released products within the BASF Meyco line: the MP 357 GS and MP 364 Flex resins, MP 367 Foam, and TSL 865 spray-on liner.
Strata president Rory Paton-Ash said the company was eager to bring the product line to the US mining industry.
“We are excited about working with and representing BASF,” he said, “[and] we have committed the resources and support required to introduce these world-leading products into the mining industry.”
BASF recently announced three of the four Meyco products, including the two-component urea silicate technology MP 364 Flex for improved performance over traditional polyurethanes.
Also in the line-up is MP 367 Foam, a urea silicate product alternative for filling large voids and mine cavities, and MP 357 GS, considered by the company to be a traditional, high-performance two-component polyurethane that is ideal for ground stabilization.
When the products were launched, officials for the chemical company said the products had been developed to improve production and safety at mines, and had been comprehensively tested before becoming available globally.
"BASF maintains a strong focus on product stewardship and a commitment to providing the highest quality mining solutions," underground coal segment specialist Haydn Whittam said.
He added that the company trained customers on practical handling, usage, storage and disposal of all products.
