The battery-powered unit has an increased battery life and lower motor maintenance costs and has been designed for ideal use in slope graded mines and operations with minimum seam heights of six feet.

The 35C-WH2-30-AC has a capacity of 180 cubic feet with a center eject bucket and moves on 44-48in tires. Its Reliance pump motor is 25hp at 1800rpm (dual Reliance 75hp at variable rpm).

Fairchild says the 30in-high, heavy-duty steel frame was designed for the harsh underground environment and the new unit has a larger battery capacity and a ball-bearing center section featuring the company’s exclusive automatic lubrication system. The operator compartment has been expanded and an adjustable canopy atop the cab offers protection to the operator’s back.

Featuring a heavy-duty, ground-based battery-changing system and John Deere inboard planetary axles with wet disc service brakes, the 35C-WH2-30-AC has a ground clearance range of 13.5-17.5in.

“This addition to our underground scoop product line is an example of our extensive ongoing commitment to innovation,” Fairchild sales and marketing vice-president Jack Fairchild Jr said.

“With mining technology advancing, we continue researching to improve equipment safety and performance while helping our customers increase mine productivity and efficiency.”
