The company signed a total of 24 contracts during the month for delivery of DBT designed and manufactured longwall and room and pillar goods to Chinese coal mining companies.
The products to be delivered include two DBT automated, longwall plow systems, DBT high seam, longwall roof supports and a DBT high seam, longwall shearer. Also included are two contracts for DBT longwall face conveyor pan lines, which will be manufactured at the DBT Langfang facility, located on the southeastern outskirts of Beijing. A number of “sizeable” contracts for spare parts for DBT mining machinery currently operating in China make up the balance of the month’s contracts.
DBT decided some time ago that not only was China the largest potential market for its underground mining equipment in the world, but if the correct strategy was applied, the market could be successfully targeted. The strategy adapted is obviously paying off, Martin said.
“DBT’s long-term strategy is to be ‘tomorrow’s number one supplier for all underground miners’ and the acquisition of the Long Airdox Company and Seneca Diesel by DBT to extend its product range has set the final stage for achieving this objective,” Martin said.
