Strata will offer sales, service and support for all its product lines from the Huntington facility, but it will have a deeper focus on expanding the company’s contract mining services and electronic safety products divisions.

Former mine safety supply manager Shawn Sitterud has been hired as the western operations manager. He brings mining, mechanics, service and training knowledge to the position, as well as nearly a decade of business management experience.

“It is a privilege to join Strata Worldwide as it unveils its new western expansion, and I am very excited to represent such a well-respected company in the mining industry,” he said.

“I have had the opportunity to work with Strata personnel over the years, and have always found them to be very professional individuals with high integrity and expert knowledge and work performance.”

The offerings from Huntington include refuge chamber refits, services, inspections, equipment, tools and materials for mining services.

Proximity-detection installation, service and support as well as communication systems and atmospheric monitoring installation, service and support will also be offered, Strata Worldwide CEO Mike Berube said.

“We wanted to invest in the western US mining territories and better serve our customers by establishing a brick-and-mortar facility with full-time personnel,” he said.
