Pantoro intends to refurbish the plant and dial processing up to 800,000 tonnes per annum in a bid to get production started again.

According to the study, $11.26 million will go on necessary refurbished and relocated items within the plant and $11.96 million will be spent on new items, including a carbon-in-leach circuit.

As part of the rebuild the crusher and mills in the existing circuit will be refurbished while all concrete, structures, electrical and services components will be replaced.

The pebble crushing, gravity and grinding circuits and the gold room will have to be refurbished too.

The crushing circuit and run-of-mine pad will stay where they are, however, the rest of the plant will be moved to the south of the existing plant.

The operation is expected to take 33 weeks to finish.

Pantoro managing director Paul Cmrlec said Pantoro now had a clear way forward for reconstruction of the Norseman processing facility.

"The large amount of existing infrastructure at the site provides a major reduction in capital costs for the project, and the review confirms our pre-acquisition cost assumptions," Cmrlec said.

"The project is advancing as expected as we progress towards recommencement of production."
