Early procurement helped keep project on track and avoid cost pressures.

GR Engineering Services secured the $57 million engineering, procurement and construction contract for the Norseman plant in 2021.

Mining activities at the Scotia Mining Centre and OK underground mine are ongoing with about 140,000 tonnes available for milling.

Hampton Mining & Civil is responsible for mining at the Scotia Mining Centre while WestAuz Mining is handling the underground works.

Pantoro managing director Paul Cmrlec congratulated his team on its efforts to stay on track and hit the objective and commended GRES for delivering the project.

"Achieving practical completion on time and on budget is an outstanding result considering the recent cost increases and delays experienced across the wider industry," he said.

Part of the success came from the early procurement of all the processing plant components during the approvals process. Among those components was a 3.3 megawatt ball mill.

That both sped up construction times and helped insulate Pantoro from the cost pressures being witnessed across the construction industry.

Pantoro bought 50% of the Norseman project in 2019 and managed the unincorporated joint venture it has at the project with Central Norseman Gold.

The Norseman mineral resource stands at 4.7 million ounces of gold and the project has an ore reserve of 900,000 ounces.
