Mining ended at Argyle in November 2020 after 37 years of operations, with more than 865 million carats of rough diamonds produced in that time.
Designed by WA jeweller Solid Gold Diamonds, the Argyle Rose contains 3.25 carats of rare Argyle pink and blue diamonds encrusted in a rose motif, surrounded by white diamonds and set in platinum and 18ct gold.
At the heart of the piece is a rare 1.36ct fancy deep pink radiant cut diamond, just one of 12 radiant cut diamonds of more than 1ct with a colour grading of 1P to be unearthed in the past 30 years of Argyle production.
The Argyle Rose was created as part of the Argyle pink diamonds icon partner program and will be sold at Solid Gold Diamond's Perth showroom.
Solid Gold Diamonds executive chairman Peter Greene said as pioneer custodians of Argyle pink diamonds, it was incredibly humbling to be asked to design a true generational heirloom for the program.
"Solid Gold Diamonds has built a strong partnership with Argyle pink diamonds over the past three decades [and] during this time we have had the privilege of transforming these precious pink diamonds into coveted jewellery pieces," he said.
"The Argyle Rose design signifies the pinnacle of our long-standing relationship."
Rio Tinto minerals chief executive officer Sinead Kaufman said the Argyle Rose was both a contemporary treasure and an heirloom for tomorrow.
"These rare and precious diamonds are one and a half billion years old, from one of the most beautiful places on earth, and the world is simply not producing them anymore," she said.
