ALTA Metallurgical Services managing director Alan Taylor told Australia's Mining Monthly the conference had been amazing.

With ALTA, he said, there are no nuts and bolts, just pure innovation, which is what makes the conference stand out from the rest.

Taylor said with 350 delegates attending from 29 countries -100 more delegates than last year- feedback about the annual conference's 23rd year had been very positive, with high praise for the quality of the conference's papers.

Taylor said a lot of the regulars had attended the conference this year but there had also been plenty of newcomers, with delegates travelling from as far away as Chile, France, Finland, Turkey and Russia.

Taylor said the conference this year reflected the current upsurge in industry activity relating to the drive towards electric vehicles and renewable energy, and included for the first time a symposium on in-situ recovery delivered in partnership with the CSIRO.

There is increased interest in ISR technology, beyond its usual applications in uranium recovery.
