Runge said it has been providing services to Indonesian mining companies for many years, and that the new office would offer a stronger, permanent presence in Indonesia.
Group and Minarco-MineConsult have been working with Indonesian mining companies to provide mine planning consulting services and software products for many years.
"The Indonesian mining industry provides substantial opportunities for both companies as it is a strong mining nation experiencing considerable growth," said Runge managing director Tony Kinnane. "Mineral and related products represent almost 20 percent of Indonesia's total exports."
Indonesia is currently the world's third largest thermal coal and copper exporter and second largest tin producer. It also produces gold, bauxite, nickel, phosphates and iron sand.
