The October 16 gathering at the Harrisburg Capitol Rotunda is being hosted by the Pennsylvania Coal Alliance, FreedomWorks for America, Count on Coal and American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity.
“With high unemployment, high gas prices, and rising costs of utilities, Americans cannot afford another four years,” organizers said.
Among the speakers will be Kitchen Table Patriots co-founder Anastasia Przybylski, FreedomWorks fellow Tom Borelli, outreach director Deneen Borelli, former Pennsylvania state senator John Pippy, grassroots activist Mark Fischer and coal miner Gary DuBois.
The groups said they wanted to increase awareness of the Obama Administration's “harmful energy agenda and burdensome regulations” that are leading to a continued drop in demand for coal.
“The 2012 election year is critical for our country, much is at stake and people must be engaged on issues important to our industry. These upcoming elections will set the course of our industry for the next 25 years; we must ensure that our voices are heard at the ballot box on November 6.”
The conference will begin at 2pm, and a question and answer session will follow the speakers’ prepared remarks.
