Visitors will be able to see the new 2m and 1.75m shields, the FBL 10 diesel LHD and shield transport trailer. The FBL-10 LHD is a new product range of DBT Diesel with two of the 10 tonne rating utility vehicles recently being delivered to Glennies Creek Coal Mine.

DBT’s Mackay workshop is currently undergoing a major expansion, to be completed by September this year. The original workshop (opened in July 2000) was 1500 m2, and was doubled in July 2001 to 3000 m2. By September 2002 it will double again to 6000 m2 to accommodate the shearer and development equipment side of the business acquired last year with the purchase of Long-Airdox, as well as bord and pillar diesel equipment, through the acquisition of Seneca.

To give QME visitors the opportunity of seeing the DBT workshop the company will be hosting a barbeque lunch for customers at its Mackay workshop and office facility on Tuesday July 23 and Wednesday July 24. The company is providing transport from the showground 11.30-12.00 pm and returning to the showground 1.30-2.00 pm.
