The agency’s free testing unit will be in Graysville, Pennsylvania on August 7 and 8 at the Graysville Volunteer Fire Department, from noon to 7pm each day.
After a brief break, the unit will visit Cliffs Natural Resources’ Oak Grove operation in Bessemer on August 19. Individuals can get tested that day from 6am through 5pm.
It will remain at the complex for the following two days, available for screenings from 2pm to 12.30am on August 20 and 3pm to 11pm on August 21.
On August 22, miners can visit NIOSH at Birmingham Health Care from 9am to 5pm.
Wrapping up the unit’s travels will be a stop at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Birmingham on August 23 from 9am to 5pm.
The agency is urging all coal miners to visit the mobile and participate in the confidential health exam, which takes about 25 minutes and includes a short questionnaire, a chest x-ray and a spirometry (breathing) test.
Blood pressure screening is also available.
While walk-ins are accepted, miners are urged to call 1-888-480-4042 to schedule an appointment.
Depending on the number of miners participating, some wait time should be anticipated.
