Hosted by the Mine Safety Institute of America and the National Association of State Mine Inspection and Training Agencies, the event has been set for June 4-6 at the Holiday Inn and Suites North Beach.
The technical sessions, which will kick off at 1.30pm on June 4, include mine rescue communication, powered haulage safety, electrical safety, mine emergency planning, accident prevention, supervisor training, rigging and crane safety and other current-event topics.
Presenters from across the industry will also discuss safety and the independent contractor, mine rescue risk and readiness assessments, miners’ rights and responsibilities and virtual reality.
“This meeting will provide a variety of safety and health workshops presented by experts from around the US and representing all sectors of mining,” organizers said.
