Former judge Maureen Lally-Green and former CSX Corporation vice-chairman Alvin Carpenter were elected as independent directors effective immediately.

Consol said that Lally-Green would serve on the nominating and corporate governance committee and the health, safety and environmental committee of the board.

She sat as a judge at the Superior Court of Pennsylvania for over 10 years, has been a professor of law at Duquesne University and held numerous leadership positions within the Catholic community of Pittsburgh.

Carpenter will serve on the compensation and finance committees.

Carpenter served as vice-chairman of CSX Corporation from 1999 until his retirement, and prior to that held numerous managerial positions within CSX, including president and CEO of CSX Transportation.
