Date set for national mine rescue comp

The four-day event at the Greater Columbus Convention Center will begin at 7am September 9 with the first aid and bench competitions.

Mine rescue crews will battle it out over two days, September 10 and 11, beginning at 7am each day.

The last division, pre-shift, will be held September 12 at the same start time.

The competition, which consistently attracts dozens of teams from across the country, will conclude with an awards banquet the evening of September 12 at the center’s Battelle Grand Ballroom.

Registration is open until June 15 and open to all mine rescue team members employed by a coal company.
